MINT FAMILY (mentha sp)

The leaf arrangement looks like an herb in the mint family but we really can't tell which one from this photo alone. If the stems are square, with pairs of opposite leaves set at right angles to each other along the stems these are also signs of the mint family, which includes a vast range of plants beside mints. The leaves should be aromatic if we are correct; it could be a culinary mint or a catmint or lemon balm. Crush the leaves and smell to confirm or we suggest you bring a sprig into a local nursery for further identification.
