KUMQUAT (fortunella)

This appears to be kumquat, a citrus fruit which is eaten whole, rind and all. A popular selection is the Nagami variety. Rind is sweet, flesh is tart. Can also be used to make marmalade. Tree is one of the hardiest citrus types. Needs full sun, regular water, especially in a container and feed with a slow-release or organic fertilizer formulated for citrus tree. Do not eat unless you have confirmed its identity from a horticulturist at a local garden center, It would be wise to know for sure that it has been raised organically in good, commercial potting soil and there has been no chemical insecticide or fungicide sprayed on or near the plant.
